This book is fantastic! It presents the view of school from the users side. The children's comments made me laugh and cry. The author carries you through the education system's whys and where for's in an interesting and easy to read way.
I can't recommend it enough and if you feel touched by the comments from the children pleading for a better way to be educated then read Richard Gerver's book "Creating tomorrow's schools today". He won Head teacher of the year 2005 for his amazing work at transforming the curriculum into an exciting offering to the pupils of a failing primary school. He turned the school around and the kids LOVED going to school everyday. He put them and their needs first and moulded the curriculum to help them find their true potential. It is the most inspiring read ever and could change the whole country for the better if all parents could read it and demand their children be offered the same respect for the time and effort they are expected to put into the politically driven curriculum.Creating Tomorrow's Schools Today: Education - Our Children - Their Futures
