This is a series of essays by 9 distinguished Dickensian scholars to commemorate Dickens death 100 years before. They consider Dickens as an artist: his comic genuis, his complexity and his use of symbols. They also consider Dickens as a critic of society and as just a normal person. Very readable essays, useful to anyone trying to delve deeper into Dicken's prolific writing.
