Great book. My book came a little damaged, but anyway, I can still read it. Tells you everything in great depth. Defiantly worth getting

Good insight into life in the '60's and this guy changed the way to bet in casinos forever! So the casinos changed too! Thorp took them on and won! He then took his formulato the stock market and won there too! Clever Maths geek!

This is the grandaddy of them all, the book that started the counting craze.

Its worth buying for the sake of completeness if you have a collection of Blackjack books, personally I think there are easier to read books on the subject.

Very small cheaply made paperback version of this interesting book - made from low quality paper.

I think some of the reviewers below are missing something: this is still an essential purchase. Much of the detail can't be found elsewhere. There are ideas here which can still be used to devastating effect on occassion. Most modern texts dwell on the dry detail of card-counting: Thorp has that kind of visionary mind which is always searching for the big score. In addition it reads like a thriller (and you would'nt believe some of the stuff Thorp could'nt put in!). The card-counting systems are obsolete now, but I very much doubt anyone would make it as a pro counter without familiarizing themselves with the material here.

This is old but a classic. It also helps to have a good memory and since then the casinos have altered the rules.

Interesting read. Presents strategies for card counting etc clearly. Some info about the maths used to work out the probabilities, however nothing comprehensive in that respect.
