The only Black Lace novel I've read twice
on 28 October 2000
Of course, if I were rating this novel against that latest Atwood or Chabon, I wouldn't be giving it five stars, but this is my favorite contemporary erotic novel. Hastings writes well. There's a lot of sexual tension as well as a lot of sex. Plus there are plenty of variations. There are hesitant lovers, but no forced sex. Delicious and wondeful. Hastings' other Black Lace novels are strong, but this is her best.
On a side note, there's very little mixing of pain and sex, something that exists in too many of the Black Lace novels, making it difficult to choose a book if this kind of thing is not a turn-on.
