Cynthia lennon's fascinating account of her relationship with John, beginning with their meeting at art school, and chronicling all their ups and downs. the book is full of interesting and sometimes funny stories about life with the beatles, and as well as photographs is illustrated with cynthia Lennon's own charming drawings of incidents in their life. There is no bitterness in this book, and the eventual breakup with john is recounted with regret but no rancour. This book should be enjoyed by anyone with an interest in the Beatles.
I really enjoy reading this and other books by Cynthia, her words are fresh new and engaging. The only problem is if i start reading i wont stop, cant put the book down so if im going to eat or go out i have to do it with one hand because the other is holding this book. I do Love books and have lots, probably why i accidentally bought this twice, new, many years ago. This book gives an insiders view of Beatle life, happy times but also sad in places but she writes so well i felt like i was there. Its sad that her marriage to John was hidden, certainly wouldnt stop me buying every album the Beatles or any group /singer brings out, - i strangely to those who hid the fact that John and Ringo had wives, i buy music for the music...laugh & enjoyed the films... I think Cynthia had a talent for writing and engaging the reader and i enjoy her books.
