Charolette Can Be exasperating
on 20 October 2013
This episode in the series is better than Death in the Devil's Acre, but I still find Charlotte exasperating. I guess her antics are necessary to move the plot along, but I think Pitt deserves better. She admits she takes him for granted, and she is always defying him by taking risks which she knows will infuriate him. She clearly forgets she is the mother of two small children. She says she shouldn't be treated like one "his' dainty ladies, yet she revels in that role when she gets the chance. She also doesn't want him to treat her like a child, yet her irresponsible actions are childlike.
She confronts characters who may be guilty of murder without regard to her safety. It is truly surprising something dastardly hasn't happened to her yet.
Her staying at Cardington Crescent during the mayhem stretch's credibility.
I will continue to read the series, but I hope she becomes more sensible, and truly appreciates a Pitt. One wonders if he was aware of all her dangerous actions, if he would still be totally smitten.
