Slowly builds up to the climax. I can understand why so many adaptations were made from these books. Simply superb.

Always a great writer - holds you well but needs listening to twice to keep up at times!

The final book in the trilogy, well worth the read, well written and constructed. I would recommend reading all three books; TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY, THE HONOURABLE SCHOOLBOY, AND SMILEY' S PEOPLE.

John le Carre is a brilliant espionage writer but his Smiley books need to be read in sequence to fully understand the ongoing plot.

Superb thriller, describing everything that you think the cold war would have been like.
Would recommend it to anyone who likes to think their way through a book.

I've rarely read a book so beautifully paced and tense, utterly immersive and evocative of the cold war yet sprinkled with such humanity. Superb
