Margaret the Queen - Nigel Tranter
on 21 May 2014
I had often wonder who St.Margaret really was and what was the Black Rood. It showed Margaret as a very young woman, with very strong ideas and extremely religious. She didn't let anything stand in her way to bring Scotland into the Holy Mother Church. She cared about Scotland and saw herself as God's chosen one to help the Scots. She was a great orator, but when something happened that she didn't want, she backed out. For example - the expulsion of Queen Ingeborg Thorsfindotter and her two sons. The Queen's mysterious illness and death and secret burial of Queen Ingerborg. Margaret believed it was God's choice for herself to become Queen. An excellent book. So many more books to read. Thank Goodness for Nigel Tranter.
