This is an excellent book. Easy to read with clear and concise chapters. Excellent link between theory and practice with a rare casestudy/self assessment approach. Particularly helpful in increasing knowledge and skills in relation to recognising clincal deterioriation and preventing or managing devasting outcomes. Relates to pregnancy, labour and the puerperium and is written in collaboration with Midwives, Obstetricians and Anaesthetists highlighting the best possible evidence based practice. I would recommend this book for Student Midwives when revising for OSCEs, the pathophysiology examination and for practice in general.

An excellent book that is set out in a way that the information is easily retained. The case studies provide the link between theory and practice, certainly a way that I am able to retain vital information. This is a book for both student midwives, return to paractice midwives and trained midwives alike.
