Very entertaining read for history fans - blends fact and fiction - I loved it!

I really enjoyed this book - the known historical facts have been blended with fiction to give a very entertaining version of how the events in this young man's life could have unfolded.
It is easy to read, written in the 1st person as Richard - he is a very likeable narrator with a fascinating life story to tell. This is my type of book - the type you enjoy reading, finish it, and wish you were still reading it!
(For anyone who wonders which parts really are fact, and which parts are fiction - I can highly recommend Ann Wroe's book 'The Perfect Prince' - which is a huge book - very detailed and thorough - very interesting!)
HIghly recommended - I look forward to reading it again... but first I am about to buy the prequel ' The Master of Bruges'!!
