The maps done by Ordinance Survey are brilliant maps, full of detail and full off information and last for ages. Especally the fully waterproof one's like this which helps keep dry especally if your like me and liable to drop it some where damp. The explorer maps are a nice scale for walking and you are able to pin point your position exactly with it's detail. They are very durable and the best out there. As for the area you can't go wrong as you probably know because you wouldn't be looking at this other wise, but for walking, exploring and getting around this is perfect.
Ordnance survey maps are perfect for walkers. I find them clear and easy to read. The normal ones are roughly about half the price of the explored active ones, but for walking in Britain laminated maps are essential. We have used this one in pouring rain, for a while we kept trying to keep it dry, but in the end had to give up! It didn't mater though, because despite getting drenched it is still perfect and appears unused. Highly recommended.
