The OS 1:25,000 explorer series of maps provide a wealth of information to ensure you can fully enjoy your visit to the area covered. Public rights of way for walking are clearly shown making route planning and following easy, if occasionally hampered by the occasional local landowner. The vast amount of tourist information from parking to pubs, historic sites and museums plus much more ensures you can discover things to do whatever the weather.
As a walker and hiker, I particularly appreciate the inclusion of field boundaries on this scale of map, compared to the 1:50,000 Landranger series. This additional detail really helps navigation in trickier areas.
Finally, these maps are a great way to remember your adventures when you get home, tracing over routes taken and putting your photos into context.
At the end of day this is a map done to the usual high standards OS operate by. Reason I get these is because they show all local paths and also there is often detail in these maps of local view points and other points of interest that guide books do not go into
Like all the OS Explorer Maps, this is just the same and equally as good. I don't think there's any more to say, except the price was good compared to WH Smiths etc. and you always get a better selection online.
