Significantly larger than the previous edition (that was about the same size but covered both parts of the county), much better illustrations including many plans.
The original Pevsners were a great achievement, but they were often done in a bit of a hurry and there were rarely any plans. The late and greatly missed Nicholas Antram produced an excellent 'Pevsner City Guide' to Brighton and Hove, much if not all of which has made it into this volume. The rest of the county is covered in the same scholarly, thorough and quietly opinionated way. In the many entries I have read on this my own county, I have found much of interest and nothing of importance has been omitted. A great achievement.

Much more detail than the old (East-and-West Sussex) volume though less convenient for carrying round when you're travelling. Now seems to contain every church, of whatever architectural merit, and a lot of free-standing sculptures.

This is a most attractive and scholarly book - with lots of good detail about buildings in Sussex including Lewes.

Book part replaces former Sussex and ONLY part replaces the Brighton & Hove town guide - necessary to keep both which should not be necessary.

It arrived quickly and has proved to be a fascinating account of interesting houses in Sussex. I enjoy dipping into it at regular intervals

A brilliant title in the series. It arrived quickly and looked very attractive. It will be extremely useful when we visit the area.

As an architectural historian, who spent many years living in Hove in the 1950s and early 1960s, I found it a useful record. It also took me back to the halcyon days of my youth.
