I was relieved to look inside this book after struggling for two weeks with the first chapter of "Teach Yourself Urdu" relating to the script.
The examples are in large type, allowing you to identify the small subtleties of some of the Urdu characters. The letters are introduced in a gradual and comprehensive way.
The only thing which could have improved it is a reference "matrix" at the end, summarising the various consonants and and their aspirated versions combine with the various vowels. However, due to the comprehensiveness of the book, I was able to construct this myself. An excellent work!

As good as the Teach your self (the script) but American origin good value for money won't go out of date uses Nasta'liq(not on a straight line i.e hanging nashk.) Nashk script variation of urdu script is on a straight line). Many commercial printing eg papers use straight i.e. Nashk script but the flowing Nasta'liq looks so much more beautiful Technology will allow Nasta'liq to survive -in any case you can with practice recognise the shortened nashk script (even as beginner)
