Watch what happens when you leave 2 old people in a house during Nuclear Armageddon, the antics they get up to are a great time for all the family(if the family is deeply broken and enjoy watching sweet people suffer undue misery...)

This book gets one box of kleenex out of 5 because it's sad and well written.

A friend of mine turned me on to this as he read it as inspiration for an operatic work he's writing. I got it as a gift for my partner who loves WWII stuff, loves post-apocalyptic stories and loves David Bowie (who provided music for the cartoon). The story is grim, yet moving and thought-provoking and showed me a side to Raymond Briggs that I never dreamt existed.

We do not have children, but I bought this book from Amazon after seeing it in the bookshop on the Queen Victoria. It is a timeless story about the imagination of a child and the ending wil touch the heart of the hardiest of us. Beautiful collector's item

Terrifying and heartbreaking. Raymond Briggs manages to find warmth and even humour in the bleakest of tales.

James Patterson gives us his usual gripping characters and the wondering of where the story is going. Wicked and sinister. Just what JP fans like!
