When I saw the collective title 'Rebel Males', I expected there to be deep and meaningful threads running through the lives and careers of all the three subjects. However, I was disappointed. The book turned out to be a rather esoteric and altogether shallow look at the lives of Brando, Clift and Dean, each in almost total isolation. Not only was there nothing new to be discovered, there was actually a lot less detail than there is already in many of the biographies of these three icons which have been on the market for years. If you really want to get to know what made these three stars tick, my recommendation would be to buy or borrow from your local library one or more of the many excellent biographies already written on each of them.
