Usually the Ed McBain books are good but this was a lot of facts and figures but no real action or story. I stuck it out to the end hoping it would get better but it got worse. Not worth giving up your time to read it.

Superb, as usual. The Deaf Man teases the detectives at the 87th - again. Impossible to guess the outcome. Just what is needed from a top quality police detective book.

Good book but not one that is particularly memorable.

Not as good as some previous Ed McBain 87th Precinct Novels. It was a bit disjointed and somehow not as well paced as some of the others in the series.

Became more gripping as it progressed. An excellent red herring. All in all a great read
