I bought Lightroom because I needed a way to index my photographs. I have been using computers since the mid 1980s so I am reasonably computer literate, although I've only just switched to digital imaging from analogue. I've tried reading this book several times. I guess I must be more than ordinarily stupid because I am very little the wiser than when I started. In my view the text is terribly designed, instead of leading a newcomer gently into a quite complicated subject and gradually adding complexity as they go along with recaps now and then, the authors pick an aspect and dive straight under the bonnet with masses of detail which is probably very good and very accurate but which I for one find very confusing. Rarely are there any explanations as to why things are done in the way they are, or what the purpose of a particular action is. I have got to the point now when I have stopped using the software altogether, I just do not need this aggravation. I find this very poor and cannot recommend it, there must be a better one out there somewhere.
