This rather whimsical book deals with the life and times of whale life in two parts.
The first part of about 100 pages records the activities of whales in verse, much of which is pretty meaningless, interspersed with some quite good pictures. Many of the older pictures demonstrate the inhumanity of nan the hunter.
The second part of the book of 70 pages lists referenced extracts about the whale, during the period 1850s-1980s,taken from other publications.
Quite a novel and interesting way to present a subject but I found the poetry trying and excessive.
