This book contains many treaties and conventions, and includes various ILC Articles and Draft Articles. It contains most things a student of international law will require, but it lacks many relevant IHL treaties (the Geneva Conventions, for instance, do not appear)... perhaps because they are considered outside the scope of the text and can (and certainly do!) fill up entire books on their own (a good compilation of IHL texts is Roberts and Guelff's Documents on the Laws of War).

It contains approximately 48 international law documents, in addition to protocols and other agreements. It does not include denunciations and reservations.

Each convention begins with basic citation information, such as the UNTS location, the opening for signature date, the date of EIF, and the number of state parties. The book appears to be updated regularly, with editions in 1991, 1994, 1996, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2009, so the citation information is relatively up-to-date.

It does not include commentary.

It is a very good resource for any student of international law.

I've done my exam with it yesterday.. It's AMAZING.. You've got everything you need - The principle of self-determination, Vienna Convention, Montevideo Convention, Articles on Wrongful Acts of the States, The UN Charter etc..
So if you are considering to buy something which you can be confident with during your exam, this is the book for you!!!!!!!
Definitely worth the price!

I have been using this publication for about 20 years with this the fourth edition on my shelves. I keep the old ones because I sometimes need texts which have been either pensioned off altogether, or only appear in the latest version. For staples, I find Blackstone's essential being reinforced, of course, by the web for the non-staples.

Bought two weeks in advance of exam I needed for and it still hasn't appeared, a week after its expected arrival date.

It met all my criteria. Main Conventions and treaties are included, therefore, it is a book to be read carefully.
