Badly laid out - Almost useless
on 23 February 2010
I bought this at the start of a gastro SHO job and never used it this is why. It's set out like a big glossary (they call it a unique A-Z compendium of the specialty), which means you can't start a job and think "I'll learn all i can about cirrhosis and it's complications" because part of it's under cirrhosis, part of it's under ascites or portal hypertension or something else. It means you will never be able to look something up in this book. You get the feeling that they've said "the information is in here somewhere, just try to find it".
Buy the oxford handbook of acute medicine instead.
