Another collection of brilliant speeches by Cicero: the words he chooses, his phrases, the rhythm of his clauses, the analogies, the pathos, the sarcasm etc. This was a man who knew words and how to use them to screw with people's minds and hearts. It's a great power to have. The only fault I see is that Cicero seems to have had no scruples defending crooks. There are five speeches in this collection and there's an introduction to each which was very useful foreground information.
