This book is a straight forward introduction to learning and development although at times it can feel quite heavy as it does contain a lot of theoritical background. The case studies and other stories make it quite interesting and it is a robust book touching on most areas of Human Resource Development. I would definitely recommend it to any learning and development professional.
Good for a practitioner's side. A bit one-sided over the author's own experiences. First chapter a bit off the topic. Overall though, a good introduction for somebody who has just acquired or wants to acquire a job in the specific field.
This is a well written textbook. It's easy to understand and contains lots of interesting snippets as well as plenty of good theory. Overall its pitched at just the right level for students with little or no understanding of the subject.
