I was in shock when I read this book which my 6yo daugther picked up in school. What kind of message to young children this "author" tried to say? It is just weird and gives really bad message to children. Avoid this book for you kids unless you want them to be stupid. So many classic book are around and it is surprising such garbage is available in schools

Michaela Morgan says she was moved to write this story after seeing children at a school with expensive trainers. This book sends the very poor message that the only way to be cool is to have an expensive pair of trainers to be like evryone else. What kind of message is that to send to young, impressionable children? There's already youth crime based on what mobile phone or clothing you wear, and envy based on not having what others have got. I think this is an atrocious book, and the author should be ashamed of herself.

This book is about a girl called Amy and she is an expert on hedgehogs. In school Amy has learned about wildlife and that is why she is interested in them. Mr Peck the librarian had only one book in the library and he is no help to her. Amy goes home and reads the book and then goes back to the library and gets a tape full of hedgehog noises. Then she learns the noises and goes outside into the garden and does them to the hedgehogs. She tricks Mr Peck to thinking that there are some sort of animals in there garden. But when the hedgehogs come out she finds she can talk to headgehogs. Mr Peck makes a sign up on his gate saying see Amazing Hedgehog Girl Admission only £1.00 (Tea and biscuits). Mr Peck made a lot of money but she made him give it all up for the hedgehog charity. Amy felt sorry for him so she let the hedgehogs eat all the slugs and snails in his garden so he won 3rd prize in the vegetable competition.
Mr Peck was a mean old man. He was sharp to Amy and not very kind.
I liked the book because it was amazing and hilarious because Amy could talk to hedgehogs. By Bethea aged 7
