Mary Jo Hatch has provided an excellent differentiated prospective of organisation theory, with numerous examples to influence a more complete understanding of this vast subject. Apparently ideal for 2nd and 3rd years, but an excellent introduction in the subject for first years. Mary provides an excellent introduction and structure throughout the book, whos aim is to influence you to educate yourself, expand the theories in your mind in order to fully understand and create an opinion of your own. (Its almost interactive!) An excellent book which really does influence you to learn and progress for your own interest and not just for your courses.

This is more than a textbook in organization theory. The book summarizes all the most important theories in the field but also offers a reflection on a profound level. The cultural dynamic model presented in the chapter on change is a masterpiece.

This is a fantastic book for those who understand organisational theory and also those who don't. I was the latter, but thanks to this book I now have a clear understanding of this interesting subject. It proved vital for a module I recently had in Organisational Management and I would strongly reccommend it to anyone studying this or a similar subject.
