The authors, academics themselves, have gone to the trouble of asking some other experts about the future. Normally I'm pretty dubious about futurology but this book has a time scale (next twenty years) which is probably long enough to be about the future and short enough to identify some useful technology coming down the pike. Mercifully, it's about science not politics, which puts it ahead of most of the rest.
Still waiting for my personal space rocket commuter vehicule, though. Wasn't I supposed to get one around about the year of my birth?
