The Lightening Thief, The Olympians.

This book is not everyone's choice. If you are into Greek Mythology then it would appeal to you, but for others like myself, and my 12 year old grand daughter, it did not hold our interests at all. My memory is bad at the best of times and to remember who was the god of what, how many human femails did he seduce, resulting in thousands of half-blood children who are being watched and nurtured on the planet, and who is the half-blood relation to either a him, or a her, and she in turn was being pursued by her second cousin, twice removed which made her a mixed blood of someone else, etc, etc!
We prefer something lighter and less complicated. However, the story is cleverly written for children who are studying that type of mythology and who will be writing their GCE's or A Level examinations, and have to learn it, but it's too heavy going for us.
