Ok ish story and some not so "comfortable" illustrations.
on 9 June 2012
The book is ok ish, not the greatest illustrations of Korky Paul (better ones are like the dog who could dig, which has some very detailed drawings) There are 3 pages where the King was not wearing anything from waist down(not frontal, but from side though), when my 5 year old started staring at those pictures, i had to rush through the pages. My 5 year old also didnt find the story interesting and didnt mind the rush. The ending and the way the little kinght gets the underpants back is not clear and nothing special and nothing clever or hilarious. I would normally spend a lot of time analyzing the pictures in every book espcially when they are drawn by people like Benedict Blathwayt, Axel Sheffler or Korky Paul, but this book does not have best of either illustration or pictures. A bit let down to write a review like this, but i was glad i didnot buy this, but borrowed it from the library, would have been mere waste of money if I bought it. This book is meant for the young ones and the pictures(as explained above), i didnt feel appropriate. There are books on underpants like Aliens..., the Queens Knickers, etc, but this is not the best on this subject, neither hilarious, nor a treat for the eyes.
