Great to have a UK approach
on 2 November 2013
I haven't finished this book yet but have already enjoyed it a lot. The best thing is the fact that its from the UK, so is relevant from a dealing with medication/nhs/gps etc point of view, and it references UK organizations/websites which are really helpful. And loads of recommended books too on a wide variety of subjects related to mental health and manic depression.
The conversations between the two authors seem a bit rehearsed at times, but its still a really interesting approach to the subject. Good to have personal stories, this really helps me understand the experience as I'm not a sufferer but very close to one. Also the added humour is a nice touch I think (laughter is the best medicine). And the A to Z section covers all areas of mental health not just Manic Depression, so very useful for a lot of things.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who knows someone with Manic Depression or even just a general interest in mental health.
