I'm big fan of Babette Cole and there's a great deal of fun to be had from this book. It's delightful the way she can throw up surprise twists to comic effect and we chuckled aloud at much of this. That said, I didn't find it in quite the same league as Princess Smartypants or Prince Cinders. Perhaps it tries too hard with this theme and loses a little of the spontaneity along the way. Worth having - but not quite the 5 stars.
A great book, a bit thin thou, about a not so usual princess. Not usual compared to other story-princesses in any case. And it's fun both for an adult reading to the child and the child. There is more books about this princess.
