EA Wallis Budge died in 1934, his text was first published in 1899, and revised in 1909. This book uses that text with a commentary by John Romer in 2008, one of the most accessible yet knowledgeable Egyptologists. My chief criticism of all of Budge's translations is that he wants them to read like the King James Bible. Romer's commentary is everything I expect: lucid, accessible, informed and informative. Despite the age of the translation, it has stood the test of time, and Romer's commentary brings it into the Twenty-first Century.

Good but its best to read Muata Ashbys coming forth by day. It gives a more in depth & spiritual explanation than a white man ever could. Only things good about this book is the price. The author uses the Egyptians Greek names rather than Egyptians names a lot in the book.

The book would seem to have been designed for certain specialists. Did not really meet my expectations.
