This book is a perfect introduction to Fashion Merchandising for individuals who are new to it like me. Each chapter has a section stating the objectives, key points, definitions and discussion questions as well as focussing on a particular topic.

The content are as follows:

Chapter 1- Introduction to Merchandising
Chapter 2 - Basic merchandising maths
Chapter 3 - Profitability
Chapter 4- Cost of Merchandise sold
Chapter 5- Markups
Chapter 6- Profit
Chapter 7 - Inventory Valuations
Chapter 8 -The Dollar Merchandise Plan
Chapter 9 - Open to Buy

There are case studies and real life scenarios which are a plus. However I decided to go for the 4th Edition apposed to the 5th.As I was not so bothered about updated case study information particularly when the 4th edition was priced at £20 compare to the 5th Edition at £55. Regardless of price this book is excellent and is a great resource for understanding merchandising and particularly merchandising definitions
