Recommended for its content despite of language being slightly technical. Insightful and worthwhile

This book really has had its day. It's one of those 'iconic' books but it is badly dated - a period piece of little more than historical interest for those interested in the arcane history of TA. The basic idea didn't catch on - we don't go around analysing people's life positions using colloquial "I'm OK/You're OK" terminology. In person-centred counselling we talk about establishing the core of self-acceptance which is much more straightforward and meaningful language. The Parent Adult Child model is still quite useful but far too much is claimed for it here. As other reviewers have said, the cover makes the book look modern but the typeface is dreadful and the content virtually unreadable. The publishers have cynically repackaged this book. Don't waste your money or time on it.

Bought as gift - I read it years ago and it is still relevant and an excellent read.

Scary how prescient this author was when he first penned this. Sadly, not much has changed is the US psyche since first published.

One of the few self-help books which really does what it says on the tin. This really helped me to get happy, and it has lasted over 20 years now, so no flash in the pan.
