Could have been solved in the first few chapters
on 9 October 2012
This is quite an entertaining read, but is rather spoilt at the end. Throughout, the police are described applying rigorous procedure, but had they actually really been consistent in doing this (i.e. performing basic checks as the police undoubtedly would) the killer would have been caught almost immediately.
Essentially the author, as is often the way, hasn't really thought it through, making the whole book seem a bit silly.
