If you see Fry as I do, a "national treasure" (I'm sure he doesn't like to be called this...doubtless he'll hear it again...but hey.... it's what I and a lot of peeps feel) then this book will go some way to explaining the reasons for the way he has turned out and progressed thus far. Some way to explaining a complexity..in showbiz.

It is as funny as it is sad. As moving as it is informative. A must for all fans (or even those slightly curious thereof) of Mr Fry.

Very Good. A bit long winded at times, but most enjoyable.

I have long been a fan of Stephen Fry through his TV work, and later his writings. I was looking forward to reading this book very much and managed to wait until my 2 week summer vacation until I dived in. The book was ideal beach reading but for a reason that is not entirely good. I found the book flowed from brilliance to mediocrity very quickly. These changes normally happened when Fry started rambling about topics unrelated to the current subject. It was at times like these when I went for a swim! The book was still a joy to pick up again though because generally the book delighted in typical Fry style. The ramblings just reminded me to put some more Sun Tan lotion on. Otherwise great, can't wait for part 2...
