This is a beautifully written, upbeat and inspiring book with a real heart. You really feel Sue's compassion, empathy and parenting expertise coming out on every single page. She neither patronises you nor makes you feel inadequate as a parent but instead dispenses the kind of parental worldly wisdom mixed with some great coaching tips that have made her a genuine parenting expert. As I was reading through this book last night, I found myself wishing that I'd had it when my two boys were very young. So many things I could have done better with a dose of Sue Atkins to help. Often with books of this nature you either get a celebrity aeroplane read - lots of filler and fluff but very little else or, an academic tome that has to be re-read several times before you get its gist. This is a book that really is packed full of parenting tips, wisdom and advice that any parent can resonate with and implement provided they are willing of course to make some changes and improvements to their parenting style and approach. I really loved the sections on how to improve your relationship with your partner and how to connect with your kids as they get older. It really is a fabulous book that should be on the bedside table of every parent or guardian, well thumbed, highlighted and dogeared!

Parenting has got to be THE most important responsibility an adult takes onboard in their lifetime; and one of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling. But successful parenting requires on-going thought, reflection, adaptation, creativity and commitment. Yet, all too often, the stresses and pressures of modern living make it too easy to revert to reactive parenting; and for bad habits and bad practices to creep into parenting.

This is why 'Parenting made easy: how to raise happy children' is a must read for ALL parents... those finding parenting difficult as well as those who feel confident with their parenting. The reason I say this is because parenting is dynamic and ever changing... adapting to change requires reflection ... reflective parenting leads to more successful parenting... and successful parenting leads to happy children.

The author, Sue Atkins, writes with credibility and passion and in a very supportive and encouraging style - which is both helpful and guiding, but neither patronising nor judgemental. She offers some interesting exercises designed to encourage self-reflection and lots of practical tips and follow-up ideas to help with the daily practice of raising children.

I was a little bit uncomfortable with the title 'Parenting made easy' as parenting should never be considered easy, but I'm glad I never let this put me off reading the book as it has served as a very thought-provoking and inspiring guide that has helped me in my strive to be the best parent I can.

This book is a must-read for any parent, whatever their circumstances. Sue's advice has helped me not only with dealing with younger children but also with looking at 'wobbles' with my older child. Thoroughly recommended.

Sue Atkins knows what it takes to give kids the environment they need to thrive in. In Parenting Made Easy: How to Raise Happy Children, Sue takes all of her parent coaching wisdom and puts in right in a parent's hand... from there it's a short pathway to the mind and the heart. Well done!
