It's good - repetitive practice does help. If I were redesigning this book I would:
1) Have the answers on the same page so that you could cover them up while working, then easily check your answers. It's annoying to have to look in the back of the book.
2) Use more complete sentences for the questions e.g. instead of 'I eat' use 'I eat an apple' or 'At 11am, I eat an apple'. It goes into memory much better if the sentence has more meaning.
3) Have more practice e.g. chapter 1 exercise 15 introduces 4 very important 'are' verbs that are irregular in the present tense. The only exercise is to conjugate them once, in the usual order, io, tu, lei etc.

I am a beginner at Italian. I have started working through the book, but found the approach to the three main conjugations of words rather odd. There were a lot of exercises requiring only knowledge of the "regular" endings of the verbs but scarcely any dealing with the irregular verbs, which would be much more useful. The key irregular verbs (possere, dovere, andare, dare etc) need a lot more attention.

As a post beginner - sort of comfortable with intermediate stage Italian - I find this book a great learning aid. I keep it close to me at all times as reference (when in learning mode!) but the exercises are useful too as long as I keep revisiting them. Covers all the verbs, verb endings, tenses that I'm ever going to use, and more.

This is an excellent book . By completing the exercises you will soon learn ( AND REMEMBER ) the structure of the verbs
Also covers the various tenses in clearly explained examples.
Would be ideal for a beginner but also for practice for the more advanced.
Excellent !

This is an extremely useful book especially if you are serious about learning the Italian language. The book has lots of exercises to help you understand the form and function of Italian verbs, and, will help in you to structure a sentence. The Italian verb structure is probably the most important aspect of the Italian language (in my opinion), and, this book will definitely help so would confidently recommend this book.

Having bought many books on the Italian language, I still struggled, as many people do, to understand the all important Verbs.
Their structure and usage is fully explained in this book with hundreds of practice questions. A GEM-if you really want to speak or write Italian-BUY it!!!
