Our hero Viscount Berkley is a good man but women do not want a good man they want a rake to reform, so with the help of his friends he gathers the reputation of being a rake so that the women will flock to him. Then he meets the eccentric Cassandra Effington who has very high standards for a future husband and a rake will not do at all. However she agrees to a wager with him - she will find him the ideal bride before he finds her the perfect match. He knows that his ideal bride is her, but will she come to think he is her perfect match? How they get there has many twists and turns is deeply funny with characters you like (and want to know more of) and the dialogue is the very best. This is a really good book.
