This publication presents the student of biology with a full introduction to the field of microbiology, followed by an explanation of the terminology used. Being an American publication, some of the spelling is quite different to UK English, but for me, this did not present any problem. In order to get the best out of this book, it is vital that the guidelines and colouring instructions are thoroughly followed as some of the content is very detailed. The authors have researched this learning method well, and clearly aim it at A-level students and above. However, even for the seasoned biologist it would come across as an interesting presentation. Without any hesitation, I would highly recommend The Microbiology Coloring Book to all students of Biological and related subjects. Definately a 'must have'
This book is an excellent introduction to microbiology. It is not just a colouring book, it teaches about different aspects of microbiology as you go. The left pages explain in detail and the right pages are the diagrams. By colouring in as you read through it helps you to remember. There are other books in the series equally as useful. These are not children's books, they are for the serious student and give a good overview of the subject. I have found mine very useful and it's very good to refer back to later in my studies.
This book is very good. It gives good diagrams on sewage and water treatment, viruses and bacteria (and much more). It's fun so it doesn't feel like learning and it has simple guidelines on colouring. I find it to be a very useful aid to my undergraduate course.
I get tired of reading too many words when it is all technical and doesn't impress you easily. I love colours and thought to try this out to help me learn better, I found this book to be an excellent tool for education and sticks many things in your mind easily then a normal book. Plus you can use it wherever you maybe, just doodle away when you get a minute or so.
