A wonderful little book. Wonderful pictures showcasing many places I had never heard of, and I thought I knew London moderately well. I could not disagree with Andrew Taylor's comments on the binding, but this is not a field guide, and Google maps can fill in any deficiency in the book's maps. I love the older maps, and I don't find legibility to be a problem, and some of the local maps. All in all, an excellent guide to London. Together with the Brewer's Guide to London Fable and Ed Glinert's London Compendium there are few details of London not covered.

Excellent, very detailed 'atlas' of London containing loads of old and new photos, historical map extracts and detailed, potted histories borough by borough. Great reference book with a wealth of info for the history-lover and geographer. We visit London several times a year and always use it beforehand and after visits.
