I love this book so much! It was our topic when I was in year 3 but I decided to read it again just because it was so deep and emotional at times. It was the first ever Micheal Morpurgo book I ever read and now I'm his biggest fan EVER!!! His books are excellent, adventurous and very moving and both me and my granny (who bought it me for Christmas) felt like crying - she actually did cry and I was close to doing so.
I found it really upsetting when I had to put it down. Both my mum and I enjoyed it so much; she even read the end while I was in bed before I did!
It's a big thing in our family, everyone loves that legendary author, especially me (LC-J)!!!

Lovely story, compelling and interesting. for adults as well as children. i particularly loved the post scripts explaining how it came about that Michael Morpurgo wrote the book. i want to read Rudyard Kipling's Elephant Child now.

I love all Michael Morpurgo books and this one although a bit far fetched in places, certainly gives out a strong message.

I think this book is nice but has a few unlikely coincidences but aside it is slightly touching And I think I really would not like it had it not had loveable baby Orang-utans in it

This book is very emotional and it gives you that feeling of anger, hate and happiness! I recommend try his book to people age 8 and up.
