Superb review of rare and endangered creatures and flora, from slime moulds to lemurs, well illustrated . This is the best book i have ever seen in fifty years of studying this area , subjects are in alphabetical order of latin names and feature colour illustrations and maps. several hundred entries and not everything is covered , suprise!
But coverage is fascinating mix of usual subjaects and things you've never heard of and, alas, will probably never see! Due to be a bedside book for years to come, a fact which is probably quite worrying!

How such 2 reputable organisations as the International Union for Conservation of Nature aand publisher Harper Collins could make such a presentational mess is hard to believe but this is what they have done for the following reasons.
1)The book is the wrong size-should have been A4.
2)The book illustrates 365 animals, plants and fungi all jumbled together without separation but listed in alphabetical order by thier Latin name-in short it is difficult to find any thing.
Each species has a page covering endangered history, illustration, map and short text.
Could have been an excellent book with some thought.
