Great book revealing the industrial secrets if medicine and hard-thought tricks of the modern world!

This book should be required reading in schools! In clear, logical language it explains the truth behind the multi million pound health industry and explains how data is cherry picked to promote theories and products - sometes just making money, but other times also doing staggering harm. You are going to be surprised at some of the names which come up in this book and just how "qualified" some of the TV "experts" really are. It certainly teaches you to view health food and new drug claims with a far more reasoned detachment.

Well written and thoroughly researched discussion of how the media mislead and pervert science. Too few people in positions of power have any understanding of science and this book shows the consequences of that endemic and maybe wilful ignorance. The good science can do is all too often undermined. This book explains how this happens with many specific examples of real harm done by media hubris.

Good comment on invalid use of statistics and some of the major culprits. I would have liked more material on use of statistics in scientific research generally and less focus on particular hobby-horses.
