Mme Dariaux offers no brash life-coaching, no abstract theories and not a breath of indignation; just clear-eyed, unsentimental but sympathetic observations of the behaviour of men and women. Her worldly-wise advice makes more recent self-help books seem embarrassingly immature. Written with charm and elegance, but also with a dash of mischief and a great sense of fun, the book is a delight.

This isn't a how to guide with men. The advice it does have is of a traditional bent, most of which isnt't useful today but still it's a really fun read that gives you a few things to about. I liked her very practical take on marriages and affairs, still any ardent feminist would not be amused.

A wise and experienced woman, being French I'm sure gives a particular spin, though some valid but dated comments (i.e.flirtation ).Oterwise feeling and very good.

Interesting read if a little hard going at times. The author is more long winded and opinionated in this book than in A Guide To Elegance.
