At Home with The Queen is a great book and very easy to read. Not many countries have a Royal Family, so we in Great Britain are very lucky to have them.
This book gives an amazing insight into the Queen and Prince Philip's way of life, not only at Buckingham Palace but also at the other Royal Residences. Their lives are steeped in history and tradition that is unique to our history.
Among the information therein, is The Good Old Days, Invitation to the Palace, Likes and Dislikes, Royal Travel, The Royal Purse, Royal Shopping Lists and so much more. Did you know that the Queen's bedsheets are 6" longer than those of Prince Philip? Why does the Queen not allow square icecubes in her drinks? What is it like to work for the Royal Household? How many do they employ? Who is the best boss? All will be revealed in the pages of this fascinating and intersting book.
It is a great read for those of us who are British and it is a great read for any friends or relatives living abroad that have an interest in our Heritage and the Royal Family. One thing to be remembered is that this book was published in 2003 so there have been some changes in the Royal Family since then.
