EDIT: I'm updating my review from 5 star to 3 because I'm disappointed in how long it has held my son's attention. I also tried it and wasn't hooked. He has barely touched it since the first few days. When i compare how long we both spent on Breath of the Wild the cost doesn't make sense. If this was a £30 game I might stay on 5 stars, but for £50 it really is poor value, he spends more time playing Minecraft and the Breath of the Wild now and this one goes untouched.

I'm a massive fan of BoTW, as is my youngest (10yr old boy). The one thing he has always obsessed about was wanting to play before the Calamity (mainly because he wanted to play around Hyrule castle before it was destroyed!). This is perfect.

My son has already played it for 6 hours non-stop! He has been able to learn it a lot faster than traditional Zelda because it is much more simple in gameplay:

- Huge hoards of enemies to kill, but much easier to kill than in BoTW
- No climbing of the scenery, so you it isn't an open world like BoTW
- Simple capture the flag style objectives
- Multiplayer! He can't wait to have me playing it with him

If you are looking for the next BoTW then wait for it... this isn't it. If however you just love the Zelda characters and slaying enemies then this is a great game.

I'll update after some more hours of gameplay, but so far its been a great purchase which will keep us busy until the next Zelda game. I've not yet got to Amibos on this which is also my next thing to look at.
