Customer Review

Ok, first off, these boots are sold as waterproof. They aren’t.
Perhaps the Merrell has a different definition for waterproof, in my mind, it simply means your feet don’t get wet at all, not just from the sole.
If you walk through very wet long grass, you’ll very quickly find the top of your toes feeling slightly damp. I’ve not worn them with waterproof trousers and had to worry about the runoff from those, but I imagine you’d know about it quite quickly. You won’t be wading through streams or hosing them clean.
I hate wet feet, so this is an issue for me.
On the plus side, they are exceptionally comfortable. You won’t need to break them in, they are more like trainers in that respect.
The grip is ok, although the grips tend to clag with mud quite easily. Ankle support is very mild, but welcome on rough terrain.
They are a little on the wide side, I’d recommend using Amazon Wardrobe to ensure the right fit.
All in, excellent dog walking shoes, poor hiking shoes, that is, if you live in the uk where it’s bound to be wet at some point.
Updated: I can absolutely without doubt confirm that these shoes are NOT waterproof. I’ve not had chance to do a long, very wet, walk and my feet were soaked.
Very disappointed.
