TOP 500 REVIEWERon 22 March 2016
I was looking for a reliable, sports watch for running which had basic functions including:
- Easy to use, with simple interface on the watch
- Providing your pace as you run
- Keeping you informed of the distance covered
- Informing you about the time you've been running
- A "Pause" button, which means you can stop for a moment to cross a road etc, without losing your data
- A normal clock feature - so you can use it as a watch
- GPS so you can download your run onto your computer, so see how far you've run and where on a map
- Other features...more than I need

Well this watch does all this and more. I am delighted with it!!!

I am a long distance runner, and this watch exceeds my requirements and expectations!! I recommend it highly.

While running, the watch is clear and provides all the data you need. The GPS is reasonably quick to pick up on mine, however my sister has the same watch and hers takes forever.

However, the app is rubbish and I've had no end of bother getting my phone to sync to my phone and I don't like the way the information is displayed - I use Strava instead, TomTom will pass your data straight to over. When I brought it, other reviews lead me to believe that you can do triathlons with it, but you can only select running as an activity - you have to manually change it to cycling/swimming once it makes it to Strava.

The final nail in the coffin is that after owning it for 12.5 months (just outside of the warranty period), the battery stopped holding charge. Needless to say, I've not replaced it with another TomTom.

Brilliant watch so far. I've used it for several races and local runs. It was easy to set up, syncs with Strava via Bluetooth on my mobile. It paired easily. Syncs also via the PC software - the TomTom App is really good too with lots of good stats and info incl pace, times, splits, steps and maps of what you've done. One small problem I had was that initially when I opened it up, the language was set in Slovak, so took a while to decipher wihich part of menu changes language. That was done and now it's all spot on. If there is one slight criticism, it's the battery life. Needs charging like a mobile frequently so it doesn't die on you mid run, so make sure it's fully charged pre-run/workout. It's a very simple, straight-forward display and does just what I want which is to time my races, upload to Strava. Has heart rate monitor built in too. I use the av pace as my in-race guide and the display is clear with a backlight if you need it. It charges easy via the usb charger which connects to PC/Laptop. Excellent value overall and performance so far very good. I didn't want to pay a lot for something which had loads of jazzy features I wouldn't use so this is perfect for now.

I have tried various GPS running watches over the years and after my Nike/Tom Tom watch finally stopped working I thought I would give this a try and I am glad I did.

It is a fantastic piece of kit that does what it says it will. At times it has been a little bit out when ive been swimming but to be fair it hasnt been anything extreme and it can be normal for it to be a little out especially if you are swimming in different lenghth pools or open water. Having said that, to be fair it usually gives a fair estimate of distance swam.

The display is really easy to read and you have the ability to have 3 fields of data showing on the screen when you are exercising. You can also move through various different fields of data by clicking on the bottom or top of the button below the main screen.

The quick GPS is good and usually works well. It can at times take a few minutes to find the satellite but overall it's a really great watch and I'd recommend it.

I always wonder "why not 5 stars" when I see a review;very simply on this one because there is no heart rate monitor. Yes, you can buy one with it, or the strap that measures it, but for this day and age, not having this as part of the product doesn't make sense at this price point.
Tha being said, it does everything it said it would do, has a large lot screen, and it is easy enough to use (intuitive) especially when it comes to interval training (choose distance or time or laps etc) so in the TomTom range, if you dont want the HR monitor, this is the best value.

Great watch for running.
I don't do a lot of miles but for me (5 - 6km runs) it's great . Easy to download the software and track my runs. I love the interval training mode
good battery life as well!
Only negative is that it takes up to 5 mins for the GPS to kick in but not the end of the world I just know so set it off on my warm up so it's ready to go when I start running g

When my Garmin stopped charging and Garmin support were unsupportive I decided to switch brands. TomTom were recommended by a few fellow runners and, after a bit of research, I decided this was the best within my budget. I run 3-4 times a week and expected it to be very basic but was pleasantly surprised. It's quick to set up, and very easy to use - click right once to choose run or treadmill, then right again to locate GPS, it beeps when GPS found, and click right again to start running. GPS locates quicker than my older model Garmin. The front screen is customisable (I like it to show distance as main field, current time and time I've been running but there are other options). The main field is large and clear so at a glance I can check my distance. The info syncs quickly and simply with the TomTom app on my iPad and provides more info than I expected for the price, including total distance and time, lap times (mines set to kms), pace, elevation, GPS map. The data can then be set to automatically feed to other apps like MapMyRun and MyFitnessPal. When running at night you can keep the back light on. The battery is long lasting so if you are not syncing data keep it in airplane mode and the battery can last weeks without charging. I love this watch. If you can afford it I would recommend upgrading to the model with heart rate monitor and MP3 built in, but if you're on a budget this is accurate, simple to use and worth every penny

I have used the watch several times, it is stuck on the kilometer distance setting rather than miles, which is what I prefer for jogging. The manual is very basic. When I used the treadmill activity setting, there seemed to be a slower reading than the display on my treadmill. It is easy to set up and sync with a computer and charges up very fast, in comparison with another device that I own which takes a full day to re-charge, and fails to sync up with my computer. If you swipe the screen it then is back lit for a second or two, which was a surprise. Not the all singing device I'd hoped for, but I use it several times a week. December 2017-watch is still going strong ( My Garmin Forerunner has died). Still charges up really fast-used the distance setting for the first time, which bleeps after you have completed half way. Watch has suddenly developed three faults in 2018, it dosent count down a distance easily, neither does it record the steps per minuet or the kilo calories burnt. on my computer. The manual app has also refused to open. Looks like this product is about to die. Watch is up to date and fully charged and its not recording any distance covered, only my activity time. The TomTom website is very vague. The latest version of this product is over three times the cost of my original purchase. I have downgraded my star rating accordingly.

I'd be lost without this watch & the app that works alongside it. Doesn't have all the facilities of more expensive watches but main things I need it for was overall pace, average pace, distance & time. To be fair the app provides even more statistics too.

Nice watch, does everything well and would recommend it....at the price I payed which was £50 I would not pay any more than that since it does not have enough functions, all it has is run, treadmill and stopwatch, it is of nouse in the dark, although I am still getting used to the watch, I am finding it hard to get the light on, the strap is a little to small, I can get it on but have one more hole left on the strap, the strap itself is of good quality and the charging was easy enough, even the bluetooth link up with my phone once the app was downloaded was easy unlike the microsoft band,
