After previously viewing some reviews on this kettle I was a bit hesitant to buy it but I am so pleased I ignored some of the negative remarks. If you use the kettle as directed in the instructions, empty it of unused water and fill it to the indicated level then you will have no trouble what so ever.

The comments about the whistle not being loud enough! I can hear the kettle at the bottom of my garden.

I would encourage people to buy this item and follow the instructions for use. You will be pleased you did..We definitely are.

Thank you so much for an excellent product

My kettle is faulty and started leaking at the beak! I would like to return it as not 3 months have passed by, but I am no longer eligible to a replacement.
Extremely dissatisfactory

Update Feb 2016. See below for the whole saga. Latest: Complained of the rust to Amazon who directed me to Le Creuset. After several emails I have accepted a replacement kettle (replacements for defects within 5 years is their policy). They were good communicators and have responded well. I accepted a stainless steel traditional kettle in lieu of this Kone, explaining that the Kone was a poor performing kettle (imo). They thought the stainless steel version could be used on the P induction setting, but sadly the instructions advise not still. So satisfactory outcome and well done Le Creuset on responding and allowing me to take a different model on replacement :)

Loved the look, the handle and the spout cover/whistler. However, the level is not clear on the inside and you need light to see the spout holes on the inside to get the right height of fill. I have also found it slow on the induction hob which is both surprising and expensively disappointing. The instructions on arrival said it must not be used on the induction Power setting!! At max fill this kettle takes over 3 mins (non P setting). Cannot pour the water on boiling point without spluttering. The spout is too narrow and angled to fill the kettle easily, other than through the stiff fitting lid. None of these were defects so I soldiered on.
After 1.5 years it has developed rust in the spout by the holes. Have requested a refund as it is guaranteed for 5 years against defects.
Will post results here. Amazon so far helpful and am now asking Le Creuset for a response .

I bought this kettle as it looks good and with a name of Le Creuset should have lasted a long time.
On using this kettle, when it came to the boil, water spits out from under the lid and out of the steam vent. Because of this, rust started to appear after only just a few days.
Returned the kettle after a week.

Bought this for our daughter-in-law as she loves Le Creuset. It's certainly a pretty little kettle that's for sure but when I used it the handle gets pretty hot, too hot in my opinion. It's ok so long as you know otherwise your in for a surprise. The kettle is not heavy but then it of course not iron like other Le Creuset products, it's says the capacity is 1.6l but the water max fill level is pretty low, OK for 3 maybe 4 mugs at a push. I have a Stellar farmhouse hob kettle 2.0l, personally I prefer that although it has no whistle like the Le Creuset and the chrome takes more cleaning for sure. I'm not sure if the Kone kettle will stand the test of time, I certainly hope it does and lives up to the name. All Le Creuset products seem to be mega prices, I just feel there mostly overpriced.

I purchased this kettle after several months of reading reviews to find the right one. It looks very nice in my traditional kitchen, it cleans up well. Nice loud whistle. No rusting. Love the 2L capacity. Only dislike is even after several months of use, the lid is a bit diffifcult to remove.

Brought this in January 2014.
Despite taking care of kettle with weekly cleaning ofboth inside and out, using a descaler wire ball inside when boiling, kettle has suffered with brown-black rust inside and signs of rust outside.
Very disappointed with quality and that I have to rinse out and put in fresh water at each boil so as to avoid rusty bits in drinks and gravy.
Now searching for a more reliable make

Very nice kettle bought it for my mother as I already own one. Hopefully it will last as long as they say it does as it is rather pricey. I have other Crueset pots and pans which are excellent, hopefully this will not disappoint. The lid can be a little stiff when you take it off to fill with water but that slowly gets easier. The water level on the kettle stops you boiling more than you need.

I have read mixed reviews about this kettle, I can only say, I agree the lid is a little snug but it's not that difficult to open and I would rather it fits properly than not, as for limescale, that's your water unfortunately you will have that problem no matter what kind of kettle you have as that depends on where you live in the country so get a filter. I have had my kettle since 2012 and it looks as good as the day I bought it, its easy to clean, doesn't leak or drip has no rust and was worth every penny, oh and the whistle much to my husbands annoyance is wonderful. So thank you Le Crueset, from a very happy 😊 customer.

Dear Amazon,
I am happy to keep this item for now, but want to register with you that there is a chip in the lid (see attached photo). The packaging wasn't damaged, so I assume that either this went unnoticed or it is a seconds item. There is no other way that I can easily discern to let you know of this without travelling the route of returning it.

I am happy to keep this item for now, but wanted to register this minor fault with you in case it becomes worse and I have to return it in the future. This item comes with a 5 year guarantee, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.
