Ciaran Friel says:
its not just that i don't want to spend this much, this is just plain wrong.

there is literally 0 reason the price this higher other that pure greed (from amazon or EA i dont know) games on the PS4 are actually much easier (thus cheaper) do develop for than on the 360/ps3.

this is an excellent way to discourage people from next gen. first they ask the question "do i want to spend 100's of £s on a console. then they see that the price of games has gone up! it gives little incentive. picking up a couple of games should not cost around £100!!! its a recession.

so im boycotting this, as well as not wanting to pay more, its actually pretty disgusting that they think they can get away with this

Mr. A. Atkin says:
PS3 and 360 were just as expensive when their games first went out, the same is happening with this new generation. It will always be like this for new systems and games.
So you're not buying it, I don't know what you're whining about, it's not as though they're putting a gun against your head forcing you to pay for it.

Your fault for not pre-ordering and getting it at £40. :)

pre order earlier, I always pre order triple a titles as possible so gives you the option to cancel them if you decide you dont want them and you will get lowest price.

If you want it for £40, just buy the PS3 version for £30 and do the upgrade for a tenner.

This is always the case with the launch of new hardware. The reason being is that the margins on new consoles are negligible at best, with some often being sold at a loss initially. This was the case with the PS3 and 360 and will continue to be the case until people are willing to pay considerably more for their new consoles. Cost subsidisation is a major component of console game pricing and one of the primary reasons why equivalent PC games are so much cheaper. As manufacturing costs come down and the inevitable 'slim' models are released in a few years, the price of games will follow suit.

By which point we'll probably be talking about Battlefield 6 so I wouldn't hold your breath....
